ELEQ becomes CIGRE member-sponsor: building the future of power grids together
ELEQ has joined CIGRE, the international knowledge platform for high-voltage and power grids. A network where expertise, data and experience have come together for decades, with collaboration at its core.
Power grids are changing rapidly. The energy transition, increasing electrification and higher demands on reliability require more in-depth knowledge and international cooperation. This is exactly why ELEQ and CIGRE complement each other so well.
What is CIGRE?
CIGRE (Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques) is one of the largest and oldest international knowledge networks in the energy sector. It connects thousands of experts worldwide, including grid operators, engineers, researchers and technology companies. Through CIGRE, knowledge and insights are shared on high-voltage grids and (smart) energy infrastructure, with the aim of keeping power grids reliable, future-proof and sustainable. Each year, members meet internationally to exchange experiences and jointly develop solutions for current and future challenges.
Why CIGRE and ELEQ belong together
Both CIGRE and ELEQ are well-known for their expertise in complex energy grids. Technologies change, but one insight remains: energy grids cannot be reduced to simple answers. This shared conviction makes cooperation with CIGRE a natural fit. Our daily practice aligns seamlessly with the themes CIGRE focuses on, such as grid reliability, monitoring, analysis and future-proof, smart energy infrastructure.
Sharing and developing knowledge together
For ELEQ, CIGRE membership means more than access to a network or database. We work daily with complex power systems and see CIGRE as a place to share our knowledge and experience, actively contribute to working groups and collaborate with experts from all over the world.
Anyone who has ever tried to explain a complex energy grid on a single slide knows that some issues require time and depth. That is precisely what makes CIGRE so valuable: no quick conclusions, but room for in-depth discussions where theory and practice come together. During the annual meetings, insights are shared and solutions are developed that can be directly applied in today’s and tomorrow’s practice.
Looking ahead
With our membership of CIGRE, we are taking the next step in international cooperation. We are strengthening our position within the energy sector and actively contributing to the development of reliable, sustainable and future-proof electricity grids. At ELEQ, we believe that smart energy grids start with meaningful conversations. With CIGRE, we have found a place where those conversations come together worldwide.
