For more than 15 years now, ELEQ has been designing and manufacturing split-core current transformers and easy voltage taps for energy management purposes. These products offer a compact, solid and safe solution for energy management in utilities. Preserving utility buildings is not just positive for the environment; it is also good for business. Government and industries wish to make utility buildings more sustainable, as agreed in the September 2013 Energy Agreement. Recent research from TNO has shown that energy consumption in buildings is about 25% higher than necessary if the present technological and industry-related processes were used optimally. After applying energy management systems, savings of fifteen to forty per cent have been realised. The period it took to win the investment back was less than one year.

    Sustainability in a municipality equals feasible energy goals.

    Dutch municipalities gradually develop themselves to be greener. It is remarkable that over 65% of the municipalities are active in generating their own energy (solar, wind, water). There is a sense of sustainability and energy management; especially the larger municipalities (>100.000 residents) seem to be actively looking for the right structure for this. Setting up a policy is often not an obstacle to municipalities; the problem that often arises is the realisation of said policies and its organisation.     Hospital

    TNO research shows 12% energy costs could be saved in hospitals.

    Energy savings could especially be realised in the fields of lighting, ventilation and humidification. The survey shows that some hospitals could earn about half a million euros a year by saving energy. Hospitals in different locations deal with their energy usage and its management in different ways. There are hospitals whose facilities are switched on 24/7 and where the temperature is not properly adjusted. For example, a policlinic or surgery does not have to be heated or ventilated constantly. Another common issue is that in many hospitals, just one main meter is installed. When there are no additional meters installed in the building, there is no oversight on energy fluxes in the rest of the building. To get more insights into energy usage we developed split-core current transformers, small IEC transformers to mount on a three phase circuit breaker and our easy voltage taps, mountable in retrofit installations.

    Office buildings are the users that account for approximately half of the global energy consumption and its associated CO2 emission. Real estate owners of offices with a high-energy consumption must strive to make their properties more sustainable and therefore more economical. The investment in energy management systems ultimately pays off by saving on energy costs.     From market and/or customer request to product

    No matter what kind of questions you have, our specialized experts will surely find the correct solution for every particular situation. We consider each question as a challenge to arrive at the perfect result. Since we have our own Product Development Centre (PDC), this solution is more than just a rough drawing.

    Within our PDC, we have an own designers team to prepare a detailed outline, a 3D printer allowing us to realise prototypes on the spot, a tool shop and a semi-finished products department. This allows us to be fully flexible to work out your solutions. At the semi-finished products department we are able to produce ourselves every screw or bolt needed for the solution. Besides, we also have an own extruding department. Next, we assemble the products by means of our automated manufacturing department. We also have testing devices, allowing us to test the products when needed before shipping them. From every transformer test reports could be consulted through our website. In short, our process from market and/or customer challenge to solution has become trusted within the electro-technical field thanks to ELEQ’s precision.
